Research :

Experiment Video

Scientific Video

Funny Video

Method :

Equipment
  1. Hot sauce
  2. Chili
  3. Tooth pick
  4. Stop watch
  5. Water
  6. Coke
  7. Milk

Instructions :

  • Get your equipment
  • Dip the toothpick in the hot sauce
  • Suck the hot sauce off the toothpick
  • Start timing
  • Stop the timer when it stop burning
Results :
The time it took stop the burning
Just Chili : 50 secs Water : 12 secs Coke : 11 secs Milk : 7 secs

Conclusion :
I found out that milk is the best to stop the burning

Discussion :
Why does chili burn your mouth and why does milk stop it?
Chili burns your mouth because the capsaicin is released into your saliva and then binds on to receptors in your mouth and tongue and  the milk stops it because many milk products contain casein, and casein stops the spice.

The 5 main flavour Sweet, salty, sour, savoury and bitter. The back is very sensitive to bitter and the sides are sensitive.  A average person has 10,000 taste buds, a older person has 5,000 taste buds

Here is a video to explain it more

Method

  6. Unblock your nose and describe the taste
Results :
Food #1
When I ate the food, it felt crunchy, wet and sweet, it tasted like an apple
Food#2
When I ate the food, it felt crunchy, salty and bitter. I think it is a onion
Food#3
When I ate the food, if felt crunchy, but I didn't taste like anything. I think it was a potato
Food#4
When I ate the food,  it was soft and sweet. I think it was a gummy.
Food#5
When I ate the food, It was soft and little sour. I think it was a sour gummy
Powder#1
When I ate the powder, It was sweet. I think it was sugar
Powder#2
When i ate the powder, it was salty. I think it was salt
Powder#3
When I ate the powder, it was salty. I think it was baking soda
Powder#4
When I ate the powder, it tasted salty and sour. I think it was citric acid
Powder#5

Shape Transformation!

Shapes Transformation

Hello viewers,

This past weeks for hurumanu we have been learning about geometry ( Shaping up ), right now we are learning about shape transformations. Shape transformation is about reflecting the shape, translating, enlarging and rotation. Let me explain what those words means. Reflecting, reflecting the shape is basically flipping a shape. Translation, translation is moving the shape into a different spot. Enlarging, Enlarging the shape is just making it bigger. Rotation, rotation is rotating the shape.

Here is a examples ( Made by Jam board & Google Drawing )

I hope you learnt something new. What are the 4 shape transformation? Goodbye!

Skittles Colours Experiment! :D

 Aim :

I want to find out what happens when you mix Skittles colours.

Method :

Equipment

  • Skittles
  • Petri dish
  • Warm water
  • Beaker
  • White background
Instruction's :
  1. Get your equipment
  2. Put down the petri dish on the white background
  3. Place the skittles around the inside rim
  4. Then you pour the warm water in the middle of the petri dish
  5. Observe what happens
Prediction :
I think the skittles will mix into a colour, like brown. Then the skittles will lose its colour.

What happened :
The colour mixed all together and I made a orange-ish, brown-ish colour.

Discussion :
The first thing that happened
1. The colour slowly fades away ( When solid is mixed into a liquid, creating a solution. )
2. Why did the colours spread ( When you pour water over the skittles the coloured coating dissolves spreading through the water. because all the molecules are on high concentration but they do not like that so they rush to the low concentration)

The Treaty of Waitangi

The Treaty of Waitangi

Konnichiwa Viewers,

Today we will be talking about the treaty of Waitangi. This past few weeks we have been learning about the treaty of Waitangi. Our teacher set up some questions for us to answer. Then we had to choose 2 questions out of the drawing.

Here is the questions

Here are the questions that I used

In what ways is a contract or the treaty like a computer :

  1. They shared the treaty with the country

  2. They connected to make a treaty

  3. They each played a part in the treaty/contract

If the treaty of Waitangi was never signed what will happened :

        1.  I think there will be a lot of conflicts and warfare even to this day. New Zealand governments won’t be able to have enough money to help their environment. Maori tribes will be against England.

I hope learnt something new. Can you answer one of the questions? Thank you for reading this. Goodbye!
